Hello Funmi,
I do not know if you are aware of the case of Habiba Garba in Kano State.
I have just written about it with the scanty details I have from the BBC, I would contend that this is a typical case of the clear and present danger of violence that women face in Nigeria.
If Senator Ekaette wants to get really busy on women's affairs toward achieving something worthwhile - this is one test case to base a whole bill on violence against women on and get laudable results.
Forget religion and all that namby-pamby stuff, this is just about humanity and our duty to one another to keep our communities civilised.
